The 2020 River Dipping season is underway, with some modifications due to changes beyond our control.

In light of the loss of the LaRosa Partnership Program with the State of Vermont, we opted to add temperature, pH, clarity, conductivity, total dissolved solids, and salinity to our roster of parameters, even as we lost testing capabilities for others.  Doing field tests means we can still monitor sites for potential issues which would require more in-depth testing.

We've added several sites and welcome some new volunteer Dippers!

Keeping an eye on the health of the river takes more than just a grappling hook and a trash bag. The chemistry of the river has an impact on what is able to live in the water, and is influenced by the surrounding geology, land use, bank conditions, and even the trees on the shoreline.
